The boring stuff: The paperwork continues with no end in sight. Okay, it’s not all doom and gloom. There is A LOT of paperwork to setting up and running a business. Not only do you have to do all of the government filing, but you get the joy of creating your own quotes, billing, receipts, price lists, contracts, Terms of Service, and the list goes on and on. Just accept your fate and keep your ultimate goal in mind like I am doing with a healthy dose of COFFEE!

Now on to the fun stuff! I love the process of gathering information and making it easy for people to understand. My primary goal is to help people. Whether it is increasing their communications or teaching them to prepare for emergencies, it excites me to show others that these skills are not difficult or unattainable.

I want to send out a huge thank you to my family and friends who serve as my sounding boards during this setup process! One person can’t possibly set something this big up alone without the myopic view that everything they want to do is the right way.

New businesses are nothing…new. But as I started my journey in emergency management and emergency communications almost seven years ago, I realized how much was lacking in support, training, and knowledge available for those in or entering the emergency management field.

The EM road is not easy. You are the red-headed stepchild of the emergency services world…until they need you.
